Find a problem with yourself…

But you’re not allowed to use the past.

No old mistakes.

No childhood wounds.

No failed relationships.

And you’re not allowed to use the future.

No fears.

No “what ifs.”

No imagined failures.

Just right now.

So… what’s wrong with you?

Pause.

Not the story.

Not the explanation.

Not the identity you’ve built over years of thinking.

Right now.

What is actually wrong?

This is where the mind starts to scramble.

It reaches for something—anything—to prove there’s a problem:

  • “I’m not where I should be…”

  • “I’ve messed things up…”

  • “I’m behind…”

  • “I’m alone…”

But look closely.

Every single one of those thoughts comes from:

  • The past (what happened, what didn’t happen)

  • The future (where you think you should be)

Strip those away… and what remains?

Just this moment.

Breathing.

Awareness.

Life happening.

No problem.

This is the part that’s hard to accept.

Because if there’s no problem right now, then the suffering we feel isn’t coming from reality… it’s coming from the story about reality.

It means:

  • The pressure isn’t real—it’s remembered or imagined

  • The inadequacy isn’t real—it’s constructed

  • The “something is wrong with me” feeling… isn’t rooted in the present

And that’s confronting.

Because the identity you’ve built—the one trying to fix itself, improve itself, become “enough”—depends on there being something wrong.

If there’s no problem right now…

who are you trying to fix?

This doesn’t mean your past didn’t hurt.

It doesn’t mean your desires for the future don’t matter.

But it does mean this:

Your suffering is not in the moment.

It’s in your relationship to time.

There’s a kind of freedom here.

Not the loud, exciting kind.

A quieter one.

The kind where, for a moment, you stop trying to solve yourself.

And in that pause… something unexpected appears:

Space.

Relief.

Even a hint of peace.

Maybe the work isn’t to fix yourself.

Maybe the work is to notice that, right now—without the weight of yesterday or tomorrow—

there’s nothing wrong with you.

And from that place…

any change you make comes from clarity, not fear.

That’s the shift.

From:

“I need to become someone better”

To:

“I can finally see clearly from here.”

And that changes everything.
