The Size of Your Dreams Is in Proportion to How Much You Trust Yourself
The size of your dreams is often in proportion to how much you trust yourself.
Not how talented you are.
Not how much money you have.
Not how many people believe in you.
How much you trust yourself.
Because when you don’t trust yourself, you naturally make your life smaller.
You choose the safer option.
You stay in the job you have outgrown.
You remain in relationships that no longer feel right.
You talk yourself out of opportunities.
You wait until you’re more qualified, more confident, more prepared.
You tell yourself:
“Maybe one day.”
But underneath all of this is often one question:
“Do I trust myself enough to handle what happens if I go for it?”
Big dreams require you to step into uncertainty.
And uncertainty exposes your relationship with yourself.
You don’t know exactly how the business will work.
You don’t know whether the relationship will last.
You don’t know whether the move will be successful.
You don’t know whether people will support you.
You don’t know whether you’ll fail.
And that’s the point.
Self-trust isn’t believing that everything will work out exactly as you planned.
Self-trust is knowing that whatever happens, you will meet yourself there.
If you fail, you’ll learn.
If you lose something, you’ll rebuild.
If someone rejects you, you’ll survive.
If the plan changes, you’ll adapt.
If you get scared, you’ll keep moving.
That’s where bigger dreams become possible.
Because the question changes from:
“What if this doesn’t work?”
to:
“Who will I become if I give this everything I’ve got?”
Your dream doesn’t need more certainty.
It may need more trust.
Trust that you can make decisions.
Trust that you can handle discomfort.
Trust that you can change direction.
Trust that you don’t need everyone’s permission.
Trust that you are capable of becoming the person your next chapter requires.
Sometimes the dream isn’t too big.
Your trust in yourself is simply too small.
So perhaps the work isn’t to make the dream smaller.
Perhaps the work is to make your relationship with yourself stronger.
Take one promise you’ve made to yourself and keep it.
Have the conversation you’ve been avoiding.
Make the decision you’ve been postponing.
Take the first step before you feel completely ready.
Every time you do, you cast another vote for yourself.
And slowly, something changes.
You begin to believe:
“I can trust me.”
And when you trust yourself, you stop asking for permission to live the life you actually want.
Your dreams get bigger.
Your actions get bolder.
Your world gets wider.
Not because you suddenly know exactly what you’re doing.
But because you finally trust the person doing it.
The size of your dreams is in proportion to how much you trust yourself.
So don’t make the dream smaller.
Build the self-trust required to hold it.
