Are You Living Your Life… or Just Drifting With the Current?

Most people don’t consciously choose the direction of their life.

They simply drift.

Like a boat caught in a powerful ocean current, they wake up one day and realise they’ve arrived somewhere they never intended to go.

Not because they made bad decisions.

But because they never took hold of the helm.

Life has currents.

Expectations.
Habits.
Fear.
Comfort.
The opinions of others.

If you don’t choose your own direction, those currents will choose it for you.

Years pass.

Then one day you look around and wonder, “How did I end up here?”

Coaching is different.

Being coached isn’t about sitting on the riverbank talking about life.

It’s stepping into a white-water raft.

Suddenly you’re moving.

Fast.

There are moments of excitement where you feel more alive than ever before.

There are moments of fear where every instinct tells you to stop paddling.

There are moments when the adrenaline kicks in and you wonder what you’ve signed up for.

Your heart races.

You grip the paddle.

You face rapids you never imagined you could navigate.

And that’s exactly where transformation happens.

Because growth rarely feels comfortable.

It feels like white water.

The coach isn’t there to paddle for you.

They’re there to help you read the river, choose the right line, avoid unnecessary rocks, and remind you that you are capable of navigating far more than you believe.

The alternative is drifting.

The river will still carry you somewhere.

The question is whether that destination is one you intentionally chose.

So ask yourself:

Am I steering my life… or am I simply being carried by its currents?

Your future depends on your answer.
