What’s the emotion you don’t want to feel?

Not the one you talk about.

Not the one that’s easy to admit.

The one underneath that.

The one you distract yourself from.

The one you stay busy to avoid.

The one that shows up… and you immediately try to think your way out of.

That emotion is shaping your life more than you think.

Most of us don’t realise it, but a huge part of how we live is organised around not feeling something.

Overthinking?

Avoiding an emotion.

Staying constantly busy?

Avoiding an emotion.

Scrolling, eating, training, working, fixing yourself…

Often — avoiding an emotion.

It’s subtle.

Because on the surface, it can look productive.

It can even look like self-improvement.

But underneath it is a quiet message:

“I’m not okay feeling this.”

And here’s the part that changes everything:

The emotion you don’t want to feel…

doesn’t go away.

It waits.

It sits in the body.

It shows up in your reactions.

It leaks out in your triggers.

You feel it when someone ignores you.

When something doesn’t go your way.

When you’re alone with your thoughts.

Feeling the emotion you’ve been avoiding — even for a few seconds — can be confronting.

But it’s also… relieving.

Because the thing you’ve been running from

is usually not as dangerous as your mind made it out to be.

And what would happen…

Not forever.

Just for a moment.

Just enough to say:

“Okay… you can be here.”
